Name: Roger Youderian

Date and place of birth: January 21, 1924 in Sumatra, Montana. He suffered from polio for much of his youth.  

Accepted Jesus Christ as Savior: Autumn 1944

Commitment to missionary service: Autumn 1944, the same time as his conversion

Mission agency: Gospel Missionary Union

Education: 1941-1943, Montana State University, which he quit to join the Army; 1946-1949, Northwestern Schools in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he trained to be a missionary.

Military experience: Army paratrooper, served in the Battle of the Bulge

Marriage: Barbara Orton in September 1951; they met at Northwestern Schools.

Children: Beth Elaine (1952), Jerry Lee

Experience in Christian work: Served as chaplain assistant while in the paratroopers; helped develop pictures for teaching the Jivaros the written form of their language; Christian witnessing among the Jivaros; attempted to begin a ministry among the Atshuaras (Achuar)

Mission stations in Ecuador: Shell Mera (for language study), Macuma, Wambimi

People among whom he worked: Jivaros, Atshuaras (Achuar)
